A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Challenge Day 40 - Cops WIP

I haven't done as much this evening as I'd hoped, largely because I managed to nod off for an hour or so after having my dinner. Oh well, at least I've got plenty of time tomorrow night to carry on with them.

I'm not entirely sure why, but the blue looks much brighter in the pics than it does in real life. The same thing looks to have happened with the pics of the vehicles - the blue on them is actually darker than in the pics.

I was thinking that I might have to do a wash with Prussian Blue then highlight, but I don't think I need to any more. That means I can do the flesh, hair, leather and metal bits tomorrow. It should be possible in one evening...

Oh, and that is a medium/heavy machine gun you see at the front. The Salutesville Police Department are more extreme than Sean Connery's character in The Untouchables:

"He pulls a knife, we set up a crew served machine gun; he puts one of ours in hospital, we put twenty or thirty in the morgue. That's the Salutesville way."

  2. As long as the blue looks right to your eye in the flesh then I am sure it will be to my eye as well.

  3. I think blue is a colour that gets affected in the digital photo world. Great looking coppers. Cheers

  7. @ Ian - I think that's probably the case.

@ Clint - you can be sure it will, capische?

@ Brendon - Cheers. That certainly seems to be the case.

    @ Michael A - thank you :)

@ RMacedo - another great line from the film :)

@ Adam - I am thinking about getting them some mobile firepower ;)

@ Simon - the Salutesville PD just like big guns ;)

@ Dave - it does seem to be a blue effect on the photography then. Should be finished tomorrow, but you'll have to wait until Saturday for the pics :)
