- A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

(Not Quite) Finished: 28mm WW2 Aussie Jungle Fighters #2
And the third batch is complete. I got them sprayed with matt varnish during my lunch break today.
Grunts:
Vickers MMG Team:
I've mounted these on a single base which means I will need to do something to show casualties for Chain of Command. And maybe order another Vickers team which I'll mount on separate bases.
Yesterday I touched up the primer on the original batches; this evening I've primed the new figures from TAG and Foundry.
I'll be starting work on the next batch later tonight. If all goes well, I might have them finished this weekend.
I've also ordered some more figures, this time from Wartime Miniatures in Australia. The additions are some Independent Company figures and regular medic and 2" mortar team. I might order a few more Eureka figures at some point to top out the infantry support options - later on I'll add AT gun, artillery and vehicles but not for a while.

ReplyDeleteLove the fabric and skin effects!
Do I sense another WWII project I must do too .. damn it I thought my excursion into 28mm was a one-off but I may just have to linger
Bad girl Tamsin!

@ L'Empereur Zoom13 - thank you! :)
Doh, think one thing type another...
DeleteThese look great
ReplyDeleteVery nice...I initially read the post title as "Aussie Burglars" :)
ReplyDeleteSplendid!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Tamsin, especially the Vickers team.
ReplyDeleteSo you did order from Wartime. That's good because they do have some figures which will fit right into what you are planning for your Aussie force. Do you have an 81 mm mortar yet? Always helpful...And you will probably need some AT handy since the Japanese have been known to use tankettes and light tanks even in the jungles of new Guinea.
ReplyDeleteNice work indeed!
ReplyDeleteReally liking these Tamsin. Nice work!
ReplyDelete@ Neil - cheers! :)
ReplyDelete@ alastair - thanks! Well, some of them would be descendants of burglars... :)
@ Lee - cheers! :)
@ Michael A - thanks! :)
@ Jerry - I did indeed. Mainly because they were the only company with a medic and I needed a second 2" mortar team. I do have a medium mortar, even though I won't need it on-table for Chain of Command. :)
@ Steve - cheers! :)
@ Dai - thanks! :)
Looking very nice indeed Tamsin! I am enjoying seeing this force take shape.
ReplyDeleteCheers Simon! :)
