About Me

A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Monday Workbench 06 November

I was supposed to be gaming this evening, but was feeling a bit out of sorts so I emailed my opponent to apologise. As a result you get a workbench post to make up for not doing one yesterday.

I started work on some generals and mounted standard bearers for my Ming forces last night. I actually managed to get a fair bit done - all the horse flesh and markings painted and a black undercoat for the metallic areas. This evening I started on the metallics - first using VMA Black Metal for the steel areas, then VMA copper for the brass/gold areas.

I also decided to take a pic of all the Ming troops I've painted so far in their storage box:

Tomorrow I'm back at work, so progress will slow down.

  1. Hope you feel better soon Tamsin, and that's a nice looking Ming army you have on its way :-)

  2. Hope you feel better soon! I've finally broken my painting dry spell and got something finished. :)

  3. I echo the sentiments, I hope you are feeling better soon!
Painting is therapy, keep painting those heavy cav 'Bad Boys'!

  4. Get well soon, Tamsin. These do look to be lovely troops, though! Looking forward to seeing loads more from you in the Challenge!

  5. Hope you're feeling better soon Tamsin.

    Your painting throughput is amazing.

  6. @ Blax - thanks! It seems it was just a 24-hour bug, so I was OK-ish for work on Tuesday :)

@ The Responsible one - cheers! Good to hear you're out of the painting doldrums :)

@ Michael - thanks! I was much better the next morning :)

@ Herkybird - cheers! Not HCBBs; Command BBs :)

@Sidney - thanks! Hopefully I'll get the painting on the command figures finished this weekend :)

    @ Jim - cheers! I recovered quickly thankfully. :)
