OK, it's two days late but here is my photo round-up of Salute 2025. You can also take it as proof of life, given that I haven't posted here since last year's Salute. I still haven't broken through my painting block, despite several attempts.
Anyway...
Saturday morning saw me up bright and early. I got to the ExCel Centre just after 0900, had a smoke outside and then dawdled down to the queuing hall. It was only 0915 and the hall was already very full. Rather then go in and join the queue I decided to go to the loo, grab a coffee and head back outside for a while, intending to go back in after 1000. When I went back in just after 1000 the hall was still very full so I joined the queue, finally getting into the show about 1015. Apparently they had sold about 7000 advance e-tickets, which explain why the queue was so long and why it took so long to get people in through the doors.
After a quick stop at one games table to drop off some fliers for the club, I set off to do my shopping, The first stop was Eureka Miniatures to see if they had Shuvalov howitzers for my SYW Russian Observation Corps; they did so I was able to scratch one item off my list for the next stop, Essex Miniatures where I bought some more SYW Russians to complete my Observation Corps. After that it was a quick trip to Warlord Games to get a pack of Judge Dredd figures that I didn't have. And that, dear reader, was the sum total of my show purchases. Here's a photo, with the show freebies (missing the Lt Colonel MacDonnell figure, which I gave to someone from the club who hadn't got one in their bag):
After the shopping, I did a brief tour of some of the trade stands, then went out for another smoke before heading back in to take photos of all the games. I skipped games on trade stands and it turns out that I missed at least one of the games somehow.

Great to see a post from you Tamsin, and sorry to hear about the painting block, hopefully your new purchases might help, and thanks for taking the time to take, upload and post all the great looking games at Salute, do miss being able to attend the shows.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome! It is good to post again, and was even better to get out to Salute on Saturday.
DeleteIts not the best interface is it? Great photos and Great to see you again Tamsin, hopefully you'll be back on the brush soon???
ReplyDeleteIt's an absolute pain - I couldn't upload more than 3 or 4 photos at a time, and it occasionally posted them in the wrong place.
DeleteIt was good to see you again at the show.
A good report on the show, some cracking games there, lots of ones I have never heard off but really interesting, great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThere were lots of games I hadn't encountered before, which just goes to show how alive the industry is.
DeleteThanks for posting this, so those of us from far away can get a taste of Salute.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! It's always good to let people see what they missed out on, and hopefully inspire them to do the same for shows that they can get to but I can't!
DeleteGreat to see you again, it feels like it's been ages. Cracking photos btw, there were some very interesting games on display.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you again too - it's been a year since the last Salute!
DeleteThere were definitely some great games on display this year.
Thank you for sharing Tasmin, wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteWillz.
You're welcome! Glad you like the pics.
DeleteProof of life is good 🙂 lovely set of photos, thanks for sharing that work. The opening photo of the napoleonic game is the first on several blog reports, so I assume it was near the door .. anyway that game looks to be my fave.
ReplyDeleteCheers! It wasn't the first table inside the doors - I suspect that most people have done the same as me, starting with the first table in the first row and working through them in order; with so many tables, it's the easiest way to identify which game is which.
DeleteEmperor of the Battlefield is written by Ian Godwin from my club (CLWC). There is a Facebook group for the rules where you can find more information; I suspect that Ian will be taking the game to a number of shows this year.
I saw you en-passant while playing with Nick and Rich. Called out, but clearly not loud enough to get through the background noise of the show.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you're still hanging in. Understand the whole painting block thing; life stressors are a definite thing.
Take care now.
That must have been when I was taking photos of all the games - sorry I didn't hear or see you; it would have been great to catch up.
DeleteNext time then.
DeleteNice pics. A very comprehensive review. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteCheers! I did miss at least one of the Warlords' games somehow.
DeleteA great run through on the show. Like being there!
ReplyDelete(I dislike the new blogger image upload process as well. Everyone I know thinks it is worse.)
Thanks! It was the first time I've encountered the new interface, not having posted since last year's Salute.
DeleteGood to see you back in the saddle .. some interesting looking stuff indeed
ReplyDeleteThere were definitely some interesting games this year.
DeleteGreat to see you out and about, and getting yourself a few treasures!
ReplyDeleteGreat set of photos Tamsin. I met a chap on the platform on the way home with the same tshirt as me, so you kay have seen him earlier in the day!
ReplyDeleteGlad you still knocking about:)
