About Me

A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Birthy Happdays!; I'm A Winner!; Bloggers' Meetup at Salute

Birthy happday to me! Woohoo, 21 (again? Ed.) today! I've had a quiet celebration on my own with a  Chinese takeaway and a tub of Haagen Daas ice cream. I suppose a prize draw is in order, especially as I've also reached 350 followers.

And it's "Birthy happday to Ray" as well - His Most Universally High Imperious Kingliness is 45 today. What a great blogger and painter to share a birthday with.

I had some unexpected news today. Carl over at Hitting On A Double 1 had a prize draw to celebrate two things - reaching 50 followers (he deserves more - pop over and start following!) and the first anniversary of his blog. Winners were picked at random from his followers. Well, I was one of them and two Mordheim figures will be on their way to me shortly.

After last year's success, Ray and Fran are hosting a repeat this year. All gaming bloggers attending Salute on 20 April are invited to join them at 1pm in the location shown by the red dot.

They may even bring a big red dot with them to make it even easier to find. In case the big red dot is confusing to you, this is in the seating area next to the bring & buy stall.

I'll be there and (assuming I actually finish them in time) will be revealing my Secret Projects.

  21. Thanks again for the additional greetings!

@ Legatus - we are welcoming all and sundry from the blogosphere who are at Salute to join us, so come on over at 1pm :)

@ Phil B - yup, they did arrive and even got mentioned here in my post from Monday night (which was just after midnight, so is listed as Tuesday - the one with the Korean light foot bowmen anyway). Looking forward to using them tomorrow at the SOA Battle Day.

    1. Prizes or not, those pikemen were incredible. In that small amount of time, that many figures, and that quality - finishing them took formidable skills. I thought they were great! :)
