Well, the post title seems appropriate given how long it has been since my last post and the title of that!
I have had a few emails (and comments on the blog) asking me if everything is OK. This post is to let you know that I am alive, haven't been in hospital, haven't been in prison, haven't been sent on some super-duper-top secret mission or anything like that. For those who did get in touch, thank you for your concern.
It's quite simple really. For the past few weeks I've been suffering from a return of my chronic fatigue, which has left me without the mental or physical energy to do anything hobby related in the evenings after work. My weekends have been spent trying to sleep as much as possible.
I believe that I know what has caused this extended period of fatigue (I occasionally have brief flare-ups, but these only last a few days). At work we have had some major refurbishments taking place. Unfortunately these works have been directly above and outside the office I work in. The noise from this appears to have affected my sleep, leading to the fatigue building up.
Luckily all the heavy drilling, demolition and other very noisy work is finished now, so my sleep should start to return to normal shortly and I'll once again have energy in the evenings and at weekends for painting and gaming. At that point, you can expect me to be actively blogging again.

- A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).
Sorry to hear of your lack of rest and fatigue. Hopefully you'll be able to return to full strength now that the work distractions have subsided.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are OK (for whatever Ok means to you). You have been missed So take care and just know we'll be ready waiting for your return in full when you are ready.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Tamsin. Sleep depravation is a bugger at thte best of times and can lead to all sorts of problems. Glad to hear things are starting to level out now though.

Dear tamsin,
ReplyDeleteWhile I am sorry to hear about your chronic fatigue, it is good to hear hat you are doing better. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a real problem and several of my friends have been diagnosed with it. I think everyone would share my hope that you slowly get back into things that are not too tiring.

Good to hear you are on the upside. Its ridiculous you've have to put up with heavy drilling and demo above your office. They should send everyone home, or let you work from home when they do that. Better days!
