About Me

A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Final Challenge Entry - Four Dames for Salutesville

Last night saw me crash a bit - the adrenaline buzz from the Challenge had worn off, leaving me worn out. That's why I didn't do this post then.

Anyway, my last entry in the Challenge was painted on the final evening and submitted a few hours before the deadline. I did write a bit of a story to accompany the figures, which you can see here.

I'm just going to show the figures, not repeat the story, so here we go.

The young ladies Francis "The Lurker" Lee and Ray "The Badger" Rousell wished they could marry:

The ladies they ended up marrying:

The figures are 28mm from Blue Moon.

Tomorrow I'll try to do a write-up of Sunday's Imjin War battle then on Thursday or Friday will do a retrospective of all my Challenge entries.

  3. Rest and heal yourself. And count yourself lucky that you have survived I do hear tales of Painters who did not and now can only sit in corners acting like a gibbering wreck rocking themselves back wards and forwards while they listn to Nick Cave and the Bad seeds!

  4. Definitive proof that marriage can seriously damage your health. This is public service Tamsin... and an excellent artwork, as usual! :D Cheers!

  8. Really liked these when I saw them on the challenge page. I'm not surprised you're having some sort of downer after your exertions - time to relax and bask in the glory !
