It's nice to be off work for a couple of days! It would be even nicer if it was three whole days, but I got persuaded/cajoled/briber to sit on a grievance appeal panel tomorrow afternoon which breaks up my little break.
Anyway, shortly after getting up the postman rang the bell for my flat. "ooooh, a small parcel! I wonder what this could be?"
A box (pic edited to obscure addresses):
Some sheets of Swiss flags:
A bunch of lead!
Yup, my order to finish off my Swiss army has arrived. On checking through the packs and doing some sorting I discovered that I'd made a booboo when placing the order. Instead of ordering 24 of one code I'd only ordered 1! Zoiks, I'll have to place another order for the 23 I'm missing!
So, if you're really unlucky you might be seeing a whole load of Swiss being rapidly painted and entered in the Challenge!
As I'll have to wait a few days at least for the pikemen I messed up the order for to arrive, I might make a start on the command stands, artillery and skirmishers.

- A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

WIP: 30YW Foot, The Green-Blue Regiment #3
Well, everything is done now for this regiment - matt spray varnished, basing gunk dry-brushed, tufted, flocked. So, here are some pics of the finished regiment, including some close-ups *shudder*
I've somehow managed to paint up 650 points worth of troops, which is plenty for an army as it stands - I just need some command groups to actually use them. Looking through the drawer with the rest of my 30YW lead pile, I've got the following to prep up:
12 mounted figures for command groups
12 Reiters/Harquebusiers
2 field guns
10 dragoons
casualty markers* - 8 horses, 8 riders, 8 musketeers, 8 pikemen
"ambush" markers - 4 herdsmen plus sheep, pigs, goats, chickens
Camp items - 2 wagons (plus 2 draft horses); religious group (altar, priest, 4 monks); farrier, assistant and horse; goods/cargo (barrels, sacks, crates, cannonballs, chests); foot officer figure
22 pistol armed "horse"** (late war) plus 2 mounted standard bearers
9 assorted mounted standard bearers***
* to be used as markers for Cohesion state
** not a priority for painting up right now
*** I might paint up a couple of these to go with the foot officer or on other camp bases
Obviously my priority for prepping and painting are the command groups, and I might as well prep the Reiters, artillery and dragoons as well. This will probably keep me occupied for a couple of evenings, then it will be a couple of days for priming (and allowing the gesso to fully cure) before I get to painting them.
In the meantime I do have a few things I can be getting on with as a break from doing prep-work - my Scythians are looking accusingly at me, as are the various SF figures I've started painting (battle bots, space demons, Chewks). I also need to do the basing on my Saga Vikings.

My lead pile .......
So, what is currently in my lead (and resin) pile awaiting painting (and in some cases assembly)?
15mm Sarmatians (for Fields of Glory):
These are my current painting priority - we've got a club competition starting in a few weeks, so they need to be painted and based in time (Well, enough for a basic army anyway - I can vary my army as other BGs are finished).
from Donnington Ancients & Moderns:
72 Armoured Lancers (6 BGs)
72 Protected Lancers (6 BGs)
48 "Other Cavalry" (4 BGs)
16 Light Horse (2 BGs)
48 Light Foot Archers (4 BGs)
24 Light Foot Javelin (2 BGs)
3 Command groups (9 figures)
2 camps (assorted camp followers, booty, firepits, tents)
From Strategia e Tattica:
18 "Other Cavalry" (1 BG)
2 Command Groups (6 figures)
16 Light Foot Javelin (1 BG)
I have already painted 12 Light Foot Archers and 12 Light Foot Javelin from Strategia e Tattica. Most of the Donnington minis are prepped ready for priming, the remainder should be done over the next day or two. I had prepped, primed and started painting the Strategia e Tattica minis, but have decided to strip them back down to bare metal as I'm not happy with how they look.
6mm American Civil War
From Baccus 6mm:
Union: skirmishers, Zouaves, cavalry, artillery and commanders (ten 24-man regiments of infantry already painted and based)
confederate: infantry, skirmishers, Zouaves, cavalry, artillery and commanders
some extra artillery
some resin buildings and bridges.
Starships:
From Ground Zero Games:
NSL Intro Fleet
FSE Intro Fleet
Japanese Mega Fleet plus some extra capital ships, escorts and fighter groups
A couple of merchant/cargo vessels
I'm waiting for some magnetic adapters from Ninja Magic before I make a start on these
15mm Sci Fi

20 Combat Robots
10 Large Combat Robots
7 "The Authorities"

Colonial Security: 16 figures

Ravagers (Rim Pirates): 16 figures
Ship Crew: 6 armed, 6 unarmed
Unarmed Civvies: 32 figures
Kra'Vak: 24 figures
ESU: 40 figures
NAC: 64 infantry, 4 support wepons teams
Vehicles: 1 grav sled with support weapon, 1 hover sled
Others: 2 tracked gunbots and 1 ground mount heavy weapon
From Wargames Supply Depot:
