- A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Finished: 15mm Ming Chinese Spear & Dao Unit
These figures are proving very quick and easy to paint, which is good. the basing method I've switched to is also a lot quicker than the one I was using for the Koreans (and looks better too).
This is the first 6-base spear & dao unit for FoGR or three spear & dao units for ADLG. I've got another two units waiting in the wings to be painted.
As you can see I decided to go with red trim on the blue coats. The blue was a roughly 2:1 mix of Dark Blue Grey (VMC 904; not to be confused with Dark Bluegrey, VMC 867) and Flat Blue (VMC 962).

They look splendid! All you have to do is win with them now!
ReplyDeleteI do like the look of your bases too!
What a terrific look. The bases really complement the nice look given to the figures themselves and shows a lot of love having been poured into completing these wonderful figures.
ReplyDelete@ Herkybird - what is this "win" of which you speak? ;)
ReplyDelete@ Jerry - thanks! The static grass is covering more of the base than I'd intended, but still looks good :)
