About Me

A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

OMG!

"She's posting on a Wednesday!"

Indeed I am. Not because I've actually done some painting or model making since Sunday - I'm still knackered in the evenings when I get home from work for some reason. The only hobby related work I have done since my last post is to (finally) do a big brush-cleaning session.

I actually have two things to post about today.

Firstly, it's well over a week since I last posted about purchases of Hotwheels and I know you must all be thinking that I am ill/well (depending on your viewpoint). So, here's a pic or two of some cars I bought this evening while I was doing a shop at Tesco:

McLaren P1
In the background, you can see what's next on my workbench - another two regiments of 6mm Union infantry.

Secondly, when I posted on Sunday I spotted that the previous Sunday's post was my 750th. I somehow have missed doing a celebratory prize draw for my 3rd Blogday which means it is over a year since I last did one.

I know what the prize is going to be, but I don't want to do the prize draw in the way I have previously (you know - leave a comment, pimp my blog for bonus entries, blah-blah-di-blah). This time I'm not going to tell you how to enter or how I will determine the lucky winner. I'm also not going to tell you what the prize is. All will be revealed when I announce the winner and their prize in a couple of weeks time.

  1. Oh - how dare you? Posting on a Wednesday! Shame on you, Tamsin! And how dare I? Commenting in the middle of the night on a rainy Thursday 500 feet away from the coast line of the night dark Baltic Sea watching the 2012 version of "Dredd" and thinking how great one of those motorcycles would look as miniatures :-D

Anyway: Nice to see you're writing again. And congratulations to your 750th post. Well done!

  2. Wargames Girl Garage grows bigger and bigger. Soon you will have more toy cars than the average 6 year old boy (OK MaYBE NOT QUITE!)

  3. 750 posts! That's some going! Are you gonna smash the cars up with a hammer and try to set them on fire like I used to do with my cars??

  5. Nice looking McLaren and hotrods, Tamsin. I rarely do any hobby work (particularly painting) after work, but since I work Mon-Thur, I have three days to finally get around to doing something :)

  9. @ Stargazer - I know! The shame and horror of it! ;)

@ Clint - I might actually have more cars than the average 6 year old :/

@ Ray - cheers! Smash them up and set fire to them? Good lord no! :0

@ Fran - yes, he is a putz, but he's our putz (for better or worse). And cheers! :)

@ Whisk - thanks! That was a rather silly suggestion from Ray, wasn't it? ;)

    @ Ian - well, errmm, yes, really...and thanks! :)

    @ Al - cheers! :)

    @ Dean - a three-day weekend would be absolutely spiffing. :)

@ Michael - my humble apologies for confusing you. I'll try not to in future ;)

@ Zabadak - cheers! No need to feel humbled; we all post when we want to - you go more for quality over quantity so 180 posts is still a good rate :)
