About Me

A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Sunday Update

I'm a Winner Baby, So Why Don't You....

A couple of weeks back, I stuck my name in a prize draw on the Monsieur le Rosbif & Johnny Frog blog. The draw took place yesterday and I was one of 4 lucky winners. And this is what I won:

As the prize will be travelling across half the globe to reach me, I don't expect it for a few weeks, but I am looking forward to reading it.

Painting Update

I have been plagued with a combination of heat and insomnia this week, meaning I haven't done any painting until today. I forced myself to do a couple of hours this morning before it got too hot. I decided to make a start on one of my Korean units. If it cools down a bit more this evening, I might try to get a little bit more done on them.

Here's a piccy as I left them this morning:

  4. Congrats again, Tamsin! I'm popping it in the post today, so you'll receive it soon-ish (or at least as long as it takes to circumnavigate the globe!)

  5. Always good to get back into the painting routine. Sorry about the insomnia, I usually get up and lay in front of the telly and try to doze when it happens to me.

  6. Something I need to do too, get the buzz back and get painting but good for you Tamsin.

  8. Congratulations Tamsin, looks like an interesting book. I'll be announcing my own prize draw later today so keep your eye's peeled for that.

I love us Brits when it comes to the weather. We've spent months moaning about the grotty weather and as soon as the sun hits we start moaning about the heat. I include myself in this as well, way too hot at night to sleep comfortably.

  9. @ Abwehrschlacht - they're 15mm

@ Crazy Joe - winning is good, but I feel your pain. I think I also did the same as Anne in that draw and said to gift the prize to you if I won.

@ Anne - thanks! The insomnia passed quickly, but it looks like this weather will be with us for a while *curses, curses whoever prayed to the God of Hot Weather*

@ Rosbif - cheers! I'll let you know when it arrives

@ Clint - I do that as well sometimes

@ Fran - maybe Anne should be challenging you?

@ Michael - some progress, not a lot.

@ Lee - but that's how people can tell we really are British. Maybe that's what they should use in those Citizenship Tests?
A Prize Draw on BLMA? Ooooh, will keep an eye out for that :)

    1. Aw thanks Tamsin; you'll get your reward in Heaven - which is about the only piggin' place I'm likely to see one!

It'll be a lonely place though cos everyone I knocked around with went (or are going) the other way :O(

  11. Happy reading; when it arrives. Yeah, painting while sweat runs down your face is not enjoyable. It can't last forever...

  13. It's good to see you get some progress on your Koreans. I know how hard it is to do anything if your living space is too hot (any why I always dole out for AC in every house I've had...)
