A mythical beast - a female wargamer! I got back into wargaming in the summer of 2011 after a very, very long break and haven't looked back since. I must admit that I seem to be more of a painter/collector than a gamer, but do hope to correct that at some point in the near future. My gaming interests span the ages, from the "Biblical" era all the way through to the far future. I enjoy games of all sizes, from a handful of figures up to major battles (see my megalomaniacally sized Choson Korean and Russian Seven Years War armies).

Finished: 15mm Early Imperial Romans

A mere couple of weeks of painting has seen me finish this force of Early Imperial Romans. This will provide me with (almost) all the groups I will need to play "Infamy, Infamy!" and also act as the start of an army for Art de la Guerre.

The individual figures I ordered from Donnington arrived earlier this week. I will get them prepped and primed over the next couple of days; they will be my leader/character figures for "Infamy, Infamy!" and I will be painting them to a slightly higher standard than the basic groups I've already done.

Command stands for ADLG:

Legionary Infantry (for Infamy and ADLG):

Auxiliary Infantry (for Infamy and ADLG):

Auxiliary Archers (for Infamy and ADLG):

Didn't spot the grass on that bow until just now...

Roman/Auxiliary Cavalry (for Infamy and ADLG):

Didn't spot the bent spear until just now...

I need to add a few more bases for "Infamy!" at some point.

Engineers (for one "Infamy" scenario):

All the figures are 15mm from Lancashire Games apart from the engineers who are from Baueda (via Magister Militum). the shield designs were hand-painted - a bit rough looking up close, but fine en masse at normal wargaming distances.

  1. Looking excellent Tamsin! Was wondering about multi basing my Romans for Infamy2 but settled on movement trays in the end. That said I very much like the more natural look you achieved here

  5. As already said on facebook, that is very nice work! And using 15mm for "Kenneth" is a great idea, given how most all of your ancients already seem to be 15mm

  6. Looks great. Bent spears are, alas, an occupational hazard, especially with 15mm, because the staffs are thinner.

  7. @ Nick - thanks! I went with multi-basing so that they could do double duty - Kenneth and ADLG. :)

    @ Martin C - thanks! :)

@ 江北武士浪人 - thanks! If we ever get out of "lockdown" I will probably do a force in 28mm. :)

    @ Greyhawk Grognard - cheers! :)
The bent spears here are less to do with thickness than the metal they have been cast in (very soft and easily broken, as the junk bag I've built up goes to show).
