Finished: 28mm British Paras Batch 1

That's the first batch of Paras painted and varnished. All that's left to do is add rubble and static grass to the bases, but I'll do that at the end when the other batches are finished.

Senior Leaders (Officer and Platoon Sergeants)

Junior Leaders (Section Sergeants and Corporals)

Riflemen

Sten Guns

Bren Guns and Loaders

Specialists and "Odd" Weapons

Yes, one of the flamethrower chaps isn't a Para.
I really should take a photo of the orange scarf chap on his own.

The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted  that two of the chaps aren't white:

The junior leader with a Sten is to represent Corporal Roland West (156 Battlaion, the Parachute Regiment); the Bren gunner can be either Trooper Charles Bolton (1st Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron) or Private Kenneth Roberts (21st Independent Parachute Company) - see my post "Black Soldiers at Arnhem" for more information about them.

The figures are 28mm from Artizan, Crusader and Foundry.

  3. Excellent work. I finally broke down and ordered the first few Paras to upgrade my 20mm collection to 28mm yesterday. Now I have your pictures to provide needed inspiration. Looking forward to part II.

  7. Brilliant work - as usual, Tamsin. may I make a recommendation? try the Stoessi Heroes range. There's a lovely Roy Urquhart whoo looks amazingly like Sean Connery. While a little expensive the range does add personality to the table top.

@ Jerry - thanks! I had seen that figure from Stoessi's Heroes, but went with the "Para General With Tea" from Crusader instead - nowhere near as nice, but cheaper and I was already ordering some other packs :)
