I say "finished", although I might just go back over the jutting-out timbers with a dark brown wash. But here they are:
These buildings are by Blotz. The plastering on the exterior walls definitely improved them. Most of the painting was done with the airbrush, with just the wood and the earth rim painted by brush.
I also got some figures primed today:
...and have been prepping some other models - my Warlord Games order arrived today.
Very nice work Miss P
ReplyDeleteThose look the business. A great improvement over the stock pieces.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pat; much nicer than stock.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful buildings, well done!
ReplyDeleteThe building look the biz Tamsin!
ReplyDeleteExcellent buildings - the airbrushing worked very well
ReplyDeleteBuildings look good! Nice job. 😀
ReplyDeleteGood, hard wearing wargames terrain there! I hope you have a lot of fun fighting amongst them!
ReplyDelete@ Peter - thanks! :)
ReplyDelete@ Pat - cheers! They definitely look better with the added texture :)
@ J Womack - thanks! And such a simple way to improve the look :)
@ Phil - cheers! :)
@ Ray - thanks! :)
@ Miles - cheers! Airbrushing was definitely the easy way to go with doing the white :)
@ Stew - thanks! :)
@ Herkybird - cheers! I'm sure I will have fun when they get onto the table for some games :)
Tamsin, bravo for the houses !
ReplyDeleteWe make some recently and we like very much to do such works !
Very nice. I always seem to forget that buildings should have proper interiors too.
ReplyDeleteHi Tamsin,
ReplyDeleteThe stuff looks great. Think twice before going too dark brown with he roof timbers. They would be exposed to the sun and start to "gray out" which can be effected by drybrushing with gray. However, it is strictly a matter of taste. Keep up the good work.
@ L'Empereur - thanks! MDf kits are definitely designed for "improving" :)
ReplyDelete@ Skully - cheers! :)
@ Jerry - thanks! The wash will just be to take it back a bit more towards brown. They were painted dark brown and dry-brushed grey originally, but then got caught with the spray when I decied to add a white highlight to the walls. :)
