Thanks Phil B for yet another meme!
So, the basic idea is that you look back through your blog to a year ago and link to the post(s) nearest to that date.
Well, I took a look yesterday and there was a post on the correct day. However, as it was a "part 1" I have waited until today so that both parts can be linked to.
On Tuesday 13 March 2012 I posted "Rum, Sodomy and the Lash - Part 1"
On Thursday 15 March 2012 I posted twice:
"Quick Update" (a pretty short and boring post)
"Rum, Sodomy and the Lash - Part 2"
Looking back to my blog around that time has made me realise a couple of things and start to feel guilty about them. Around that time I was doing my "Equine Development Facility" project to get all the horses done for my Sarmatian army. Sixty of those horses are still sitting in a drawer on my painting table, painted but riderless - I really ought to get those riders prepped, primed and painted.
I was also just starting to paint my Chumbondas. Those were the last sci-fi figures I painted (not counting the NAC as futuristic British colonial forces I did a while back as test figures). I really must get some of my sci-fi forces done this year.
…sixty horses?!
ReplyDeleteI'm not feeling so bad about my painting backlog now, though that doesn't exclude me from my own paint-less related guilt.
You certainly do paint in volume Tamsin, all credit to you.
I looked back at mine and it was the posting of my first miniature. Pretty cool that Phil picked this time to do this.
ReplyDeleteSo far I haven't gotten too far off track, but I get tempted all the time. If I can actually finish all the figures for my two current projects, I'm just going to paint randomly for a while.
I have more than just painting that I slacked off on. I'm going to go through and look at all the things I planned and see if I can finish some of them.
ReplyDeleteI remember them chumbawamba wookie thingymebobs!
ReplyDeletethis time last year was when I joined tumblr so my blog was pretty dead for those months...
ReplyDelete@ Dark Templar - There were something like 120 horses in the batch originally, but I only got round to doing the riders for half of them before other projects took over. They're 15mm so it shouldn't be too bad getting the riders painted.
ReplyDelete@ Anne - I can't believe that I missed your first miniature back then or that I didn't comment. I've corrected that now.
@ Sean - if I went back and looked at all the projects I'd planned and tried to do them, well, let's just say I'd have enough work to keep me going for a couple of years at least!
@ Ray - the Chumbos were good fun to paint and certainly helped to restore my painting mojo back then.
@ PeaceLoveandSharpies - nice blog you have there. Just out of interest, how did you come across mine?
