WIP: Tamsin's Equine Development Facility #10

I did get the bridle decorations done this evening, but the markings (socks, blazes etc) will have to wait until tomorrow evening. Almost there!




Now has anyone spotted an idiotic error in my painting sequence?

Need a clue?

*cough* leaving painting facial markings until after I've already painted their bridles!

OK, so stars and partial blazes/stripes won't be an issue, but if I want to do full-length blazes or stripes it will be more awkward. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be careful with those.

    a lot of work there, you must be over painting horses by now, great variety, well done, I generally do all my horses chestnut and mix in the odd dun, grey or black for variety, I can knock them out pretty quick that way.

    Very nice, I steady hand will be needed me thinks!! Don't know how you can paint all them horses at once...I'd go mad??

    Wow, that's a lot of horses.

    I'm afraid my self-preservation gene would kick in before finishing that lot, so kudos to you.

    Yup, a lot of horses, shortly to be followed by a lot of riders. It was definitely a mistake trying to do them this way - it's taken me much longer than if I'd just done a couple of units worth at a time. Worth doing as an experiment though.

    @Dan - it should really be mostly bays, with a few chestnuts and the odd black, grey, dun or "white" for a realistic mix.

    @Ray - well, I was already mad, so no change there. And I'm pretty sure Fran would say "go mad? Pfft, GO mad?" (or words to that effect about you! ;)

    I've learned to paint in battlegroups for FOG. So if you're doing cavalry, do 12 at a time. That way you feel you're making progress and actually achieving something.

      That's my plan (well, sort of) going forward. I'll probably do it as 24 cav or 48 foot though, as that seems to work OK with my system - remember how quickly I knocked out the archers and javelin troops?

    Gettingthere thoiugh well done. nah blazes will still be ok.. Just a little care, and they finish things off nicely. It may seem like a lot tooo tackle , but noext up you will really see the progress once you get the riders on. Horses always seem to take longer then you think they should
